Book Review: "The Accursed Kings" (cont.)

No. Can't make it! Volume 7 is sooooo not good. The first six volumes are breath taking especially the Lionne of France dealing with the escape of Roger Mortimer and its afair with the then-French Queen of England... I did not check the historical references. I trust the author did his homework. I also take into account the large part of roman in this serie. The writing is consistant and breath-taking. Difficult to put down the book without reading the following chapter! Based on real facts the author succeed in drawing great characters easily followed during the whole tale. Like in any other roman I personally took the liberty to see it as a fantasy book, based on historical facts. Wanted even to change the history and having some of the characters dying earlier or other changing their impact on the story. There, with the author help (!), it get intriguing to follow the story of the arves of Philipe Le Bel, king of France and follow the construction of a great nation to what it is now.

Overall mark: 7.5/10 (except for the final volume: 3/10)
